New Member Qualifications and Information

Membership – Open to male amateur golfers age 55 and older. PGA professionals may join if their PGA status permits them to play in amateur tournaments. Starting September 1, 2024, PSMGA will begin to accept new applications for membership. This application process has closed.  Check this page in the future to see if the waitlist application has been re-opened. 

Dues - Annual dues are $30.  Member renewals are also $30, unless the board authorizes a reduction for a given calendar year.

Handicaps - Any new member whose handicap index is supported by the USGA designated Allied Golf Association, (Texas Golf Association), can use the handicap index for any tournament.  Any new member without a current GHIN will be required to play their first three tournaments under the Callaway scoring method.

Green Fees (Include mandatory golf cart) - Prevailing senior rates apply for each round, unless you puchase a 10-round ‘punch’ card at a discount. Preferred payment is cash or punch card.

Tournaments –  Every Monday year round, weather permitting, except for major holidays.

  • Start time 7:30am to 9:00am, depending on time of year.

  • Shotgun start with groups composed of players with similar handicaps.

  • USGA Rules apply except as amended by local and PSMGA special rules, posted on website

Tournament Sign up –  Online only using link on the website homepage.

Prizes - Mandatory entry fee is $5.00, paid in cash to Pecan Hollow staff at check-in for play.

  • Tournament winnings are credited to members’ accounts.

  • Request a check for any portion of account balance anytime from Treasurer, ($10.00 minimum please), unless resigning membership.Checks delivered 1st Monday of each month

  • Member accounts exceeding $200, will automatically be paid by check at the next tournament.

Optional Games –  Closest to Pin (CTP - $4) and Hole in One (HIO - $10/year)

Officers - President, VP-Operations, Secretary, Treasurer, and Webmaster. Elections are held each Fall with staggered 2-year terms for offices. Collectively, the five officers comprise the Executive Board.

Volunteers – The optional games table is run by volunteers; plese take a turn.

 

Website – Updated as needed for signup, handicap revisions, items of interest. Contains rules and By-Laws.

Newsletter – Sent via email; includes noteworthy items like your account balance.
